I like many of you laughed out loud when I first saw the Biowave Hydro. I remember it was on a news spot covering the World AG Expo in Feb of 2011. I thought wow are these guys crazy? Maybe you should go back to making your energy machine and take all this sound wave plant growth increase mumbo jumbo with you!
A bit of time went on and I found out how much they cost (the one acre version retails for about $2400.00, they also have a 10 acre farm version that is solar powered that costs a bit more). After picking my jaw up from the floor and getting the heart restarted, I knew these guys were crazy. The news continued along with wild claims of less insects (spider mites supposedly a thing of the past with a Biowave), higher brix levels, higher essential oils levels, etc.
The next thing I know Sunlight Supply is carrying the units. I was told grand stories by them about how it really works and blah, blah. So what the heck Ill add them to the site and just see if any sell. Within a day or two the first sale happened. Hum, really, someone put down their hard earned money for a spinny machine? Then the next sale and the next one happened. My skepticism is fading rapidly at this point. Now I want to know more.
Luck would have it and I was contacted by George of Biowave. It turns out their new facility is very close to me about a 20 minute drive. George was nice enough to invite me to see their facility and sit down and discuss the Biowave and the future of this product!
I learned so much while I was there. The most impressive part of this company is their dedication to research. They are seriously testing the heck of this machine. There have been a few publicly published trials (Biowave Trial) about the effectiveness of the Biowave but a many more going on now that are not published. There are trials being conducted by Ohio State University, Sunlight Supply/Cornell University, UCSD as well as a bunch of trials in Californias Central Valley by big time farms.
To meet market demands, Biowave is currently working on a smaller version. They understand that there are many small garden growers, like tent and closet gardeners, that could benefit from their technology. I got to see one of the small version prototypes while visiting so it might be on the market soon. Well let you know as soon as we hear something about that.
