Galaxy Select A Watt 400 / 600 / 1000 Ballast

Just an update on the Galaxy Adjustable Ballast. It is awesome!
A no brainier. The only ballast needed to buy as your first and final (or to buy more of!) I like the fact it can take 120 or 220v, And fire up any 400,600, 1000w bulb depending on the growth stage or size of the grow.

It runs all types of 400, 600, 1000w bulbs I have on hand Perfectly.

The only thing I don't like so far (But I really need to confirm with
measurements) Is running a 1000w bulb in 400 or 600 mode.
When u do this, the Temps of the ballast and bulb is Insane... Like enough to burn your hand on the ballast... And to burn the plants

When using 400w bulb set on 400w mode, or 600w bulb on 600w mode, the bulb and ballast runs so much more cooler, than running a 1000w bulb in 400w or 600w modes.

Also, the ballast uses a fan. The Fan is large and quite, and built more robust than those tiny., LOUD fans used in the Nextgen's ballast. So the fan is not an issue in the Galaxy ballast. However if they used internal finned heatsinks, the fan cooling would become way more efficient in cooling the Ballast. Also, If they used "slotted" air vents instead of tiny holes, it would cool more efficient. However if I mount the Ballast on the wall with the fins Vertical and the fan towards the ceiling (drawing hot air upwards), the Ballast will run much cooler that sitting on a shelf on the rubber feet.

I am very pleased with this ballast that replaced my Nextgen 1000w I sold on EBAY for $300. I would like to now sell My Nextgen 400/600w switchable, and replace it with another Galaxy 1000w switchable also. Hopefully you can give me the same deal like the first one though, ;c)
