Water cooled lights are cool. Yeah I can hear the groans about that one. If you looking to reduce the heat in your grow space a water cooled light might be the answer. Water has the ability to absorb significantly more heat when compared over air. We've seen basil plants with in inches of a 600 watt hps lamp and not getting burned with a water cooling.
Some manufacturers claim that by water cooling a light the blue and red portion of the light are amplified. This is actually good since plants use more red/blue light than the rest. Less heat and an improved spectrum are some of the benefits of water cooling your light.
